Klaufi German Shepherds
  Stud dog Ben

This is Bens page.. Pedigree name Aaronby Vivid Colour. I like my dogs to be pure or almost pure Aaronby bloodlines. They are everything I want in a GSD. They have flat backs, less strain on the hips and shoulders, slightly shorter legs, Deeper in the body, more bulk, and more muscle then the standard show German Shepherd. When Max Von Stephanitz developed the breed, the dog he used as his foundation stud dog was Horund. A big, square, flat backed dog. Here is a picture of Horund.

As you see, there was no angulation that we see in many a modern German shepherd. Although Horund was lighter then the dogs we see today, the basic shape is there for all to see.
This is how the Aaronby dogs are.

Ben and my Son

Ben is a red sable and he throws wonderful puppies. He is a good Dad too. He likes to play with the pups, and if he can persuade the dam to let him, he will sit with the pups and care for them while the dam is out. He plays well with all the dogs. Yes, thats Ben underneath Inka and Sascha.

Ben stands around 27 1/2 to 28 inches at the shoulder, and weighs around 150 pounds or more. He has a good temperament, and is a wonderful member of our family.

Ben is wary of strangers, but once he knows you, there is nothing he likes better then having the top of his tail scratched. Oh yes. He will do almost anything for that. He is a quiet boy, but with a bark that can freeze an intruder at 50 yards. He doesn't just bark. he bellows.

This was Ben when I first got him. 7 months old, scared, and neglected. it took weeks before he would let me groom him. And it took more weeks to get all the knots out of his coat. Once I did though, there was my beautiful boy. Handsome, sweet, gentle, loving if given the chance. Such a total darling.
